Sottobosco obsession

I am fascinated by the dark and peculiar works of Otto Marseus van Schrieck, a seventeenth-century Dutch painter who dedicated his life's work to painting the ground. Or more accurately, depicting shadowy undergrowths infused with imaginative chiaroscuro dramas.
